It looks just like Stanley Park in summer! Especially in black and white.
With grievous ignorance we decided to drive to Stanley Park via Davie Street on the same day as the Vancouver Polar Bear Swim. Hundreds of shivering, barefoot, bathing-suite-clad, Vancouverites flooded the City’s streets after their freezing cold dips in the Pacific Ocean on January 1st, 2024. Our 10min drive became 5x as long while we waited for the City’s elite to load into their Teslas and the brave youth to wait in long lines for packed buses to take them home.
There’s nothing creepier than someone taking a picture of you while you’re in a bathing suit in public minding your own business, so I didn’t whip out the camera too fast. I got one shot of the chaos, and then saved the rest of the film for Lord Stanley’s namesake park.
Unfortunately, much like the cold dippers my camera froze over and was barely functioning by the end of the night, resulting in some wildly unfocused photos.
